- Originally built in 1920, the Art Deco-style building that holds the Academy of Kung-Fu has seen many tenants. Prior to its conversion to a martial arts academy, the
building held a butcher shop. O'Brien Constructors removed the sloped floor and meat locker and upgraded the flooring and roof structures. To provide natural light, clerestory windows were
added. At every juncture, O'Brien worked closely with the owner, developer and architect to ensure that form met function and the space performed as required.
